Ted hails from the small farming community of Belt, Montana.
His appreciation of music started early in his life, when he would play his folks’ collection of records and groove to the sounds of Boston, Elton John, BTO, and the Bee Gees.
When he was 10 years old, he joined the grade school band, and at 14, he got his first set of drums, which he played throughout his high school years in the concert, jazz, and pep bands.
During his college years, Ted was romanced and influenced by the driving licks and riffs of various rock bands, including AC/DC, Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, and Van Halen.
A few years later, in 1998, he discovered the sweet sounds of country music, when he was asked to play drums in a local country band.
A year later, he joined forces with the original, Missoula-based band named Showdown (which later changed the spelling to Shōdown).
Ted continues to lay down the beat for this band and group of good buddies and loves every moment of it – even when he has to count out loud sometimes, for the lead guitar player’s benefit.
Ted lives in Missoula with his wife and three daughters, and he still thinks he is funny on the weekends.
