Montana

Guitar, Fiddle, Mandolin, Vocals

I started playing music at the age of 8 when my Mom taught me how to play Red River Valley on the guitar.

I guess I started earlier than that, like around 4, because Mom and Dad would haul all of us kids to a gig and we would bang on a coffee can, covered in rawhide, with a wooden spoon. But I was a drummer then so I really don't count those years.

Our music room was lined with instruments and by the age of 14 or so, all of us kids played all of them. It is just the way that it was.

I never gave it up and have been playing since then.

I usually play the guitar and the fiddle now, but if you handed me something with strings on it I guess I could probably be playing Red River Valley on it before too long.
